BALSAM FIR
The
balsam fir is a native of Wisconsin. It is considered a short-needled tree
with superb fragrance. The aroma from the balsam fir that fills your home
throughout the holiday season is one of the main selling points of the
tree. If kept well-watered, needle retention is excellent. Although the
needle retention is excellent, the needles tend to break easily when
transporting or setting up the tree.

FRASER FIR
The fraser fir is
native to the Appalachian Mountain region. This short-needled tree
has a pleasant fragrance but not as intense as the balsam fir. Strong
branches with a silvery underside, along with excellent needle
retention, have made this tree a top-seller on the market.

WHITE PINE
The white pine is
native to Wisconsin and is considered a long-needled tree with soft
needles as long as five inches. This tree offers a slight yet
pleasant fragrance. Small ornaments, lights and garland are the
preferred decoration for this tree, as the branches are very flexible
and do not easily withstand heavy ornaments.

SCOTCH PINE
The scotch pine
was imported from Europe. It is considered a long-needled tree with
needles up to three inches long. There is little fragrance
associated with the scotch pine. It has stronger branches than the
white pine which allows it to support larger ornaments. This tree
was once the top seller on the market.
